How much is the EB-5 investment?
The EB-5 program offers two investment thresholds depending on project location:
- Standard Minimum Investment: $1,050,000 (applicable to most projects)
- Targeted Employment Area (TEA) Investment: $800,000 (for projects in rural or high-unemployment areas)
By investing in a TEA project, you can qualify for a significantly lower investment amount of $800,000. This reduction incentivizes investment in economically disadvantaged areas while still meeting the program’s job creation requirements.
Both investment amounts ($1,050,000 and $800,000) are designed to create at least 10 jobs for qualifying U.S. workers. This job creation is a key factor in obtaining your EB-5 green card.

The qualifying investment amount of the EB-5 investment is $1,050,000. However, if the project that you are investing in is located in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA), the investment amount lowers to $800,000. That $800,000 being invested into the project creates the 10 jobs that are required as an EB-5 investor can help you qualify for the green card.
