Dallas, Texas, October 3, 2013 – Civitas Capital Group, a leading independent specialty asset management and financial services firm with operating divisions focused on Alternative Investments, EB-5 Funds and Wealth Management, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive EB-5 cooperation agreement with the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
Through this public-private partnership, an operating model pioneered by Civitas, the Civitas Texas Regional Center will operate as the only officially designated EB-5 regional center for the City and Chamber and will facilitate substantial and valuable economic development within Fort Worth, Texas.
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price stated, “Fort Worth has always been an All-American city and one of the fastest growing of its size in the U.S. Through our partnership with Civitas, we will continue to foster a thriving business environment and create jobs while raising the profile of Fort Worth among international investors.”
“Our partnership with Civitas will enable us to attract international financial support and advance economic development projects that may not have garnered the necessary investments before,” said Fort Worth Chamber Chairman and Jackson Walker L.L.P. Managing Partner Susan Halsey. “The opportunity to leverage foreign capital will make Fort Worth even more competitive and successful as it works to bring new businesses to our dynamic community.”
Through its EB-5 Funds division, Civitas is currently the exclusive manager of the City of Dallas Regional Center, which has funded or is in the process of funding more than $280 million of EB-5 capital and has created thousands of jobs in the city of Dallas, Texas.
“I’m pleased with this development as it recognizes our unique ability to align interests,” said Civitas’ Chief Executive Officer Dan Healy. “Through public-private partnerships, we’re able to independently align cities’ economic initiatives with the goals of our individual and institutional investors. We pioneered this approach with the City of Dallas and are pleased to implement it in Fort Worth, a city with which we have developed an intimate relationship. In the days ahead, we will work diligently to identify high-quality projects that bring investment and significant job creation into the area.”
