How does an EB-5 investor get started?
Video Transcript
So how can a prospective EB-5 investor get started? I’m sure there’s going to be lots of questions and the process seems complicated but it really doesn’t have to be. What we advise our clients is that there’s two main decisions are going to be making, one is who is a law firm that’s going to be handling your immigration filing, the other one is what is the project or Regional Center that you’re investing in? The law firm will be responsible for your immigration process, The Regional Center project will be responsible for taking care of your investment, creating jobs and repaying you in the future.
Those two decisions don’t really have to be made at the same time, what we advise our investors is when we first start out the longest time frame for most investors is actually the source of funds, If it was up to our firm, most cases would be filedI within four to six weeks, but instead of waiting, what we advise is let’s work on your source of funds first.
Let’s figure out where your money is and what’s the easiest way to prove that it’s lawful, In the meantime, we have a second timeline, use that time to visit different regional centers, really visit these projects and understand which one you would like to invest in. Ideally, we can complete both those two things around the same time, combine them, and then file your case.
That way you aren’t under any pressure and under any rush to select a project, your case doesn’t get delayed and then you know, when those two decisions are made we can file for you.
