Alec Bowers is a key member of the Civitas Capital Group’s accounting team, serving as a link between the team and the firm’s investments, asset management, development, and loan servicing teams. With expertise in real estate and fund accounting, he provides financial oversight and accounting support across various functions.

Mr. Bowers has a central role in the lodging investments team, where he collaborates with property managers to oversee financial reporting, as well as manages cash, distributions, financial analysis, and audits for properties, joint ventures, and ownership entities. Additionally, he leads accounting efforts for development projects, working closely with the Civitas development team to ensure accurate financial tracking and funding for ongoing projects.

Prior to joining Civitas, Mr. Bowers was an Assistant Corporate Ownership Controller at Highgate Hotels, where he managed financial reporting to ownership and lenders, audits, cash flow forecasting, and accounting oversight for hotel acquisitions, sales, refinances, and ownership transitions.

Mr. Bowers holds a Master of Science in Accounting, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Southern Methodist University. He is an active CPA.
